If you are traveling to the area to visit the historic sites or just a
local looking to brush up on your Hatfield McCoy history contact us to set up a tour!
We travel to almost all significant locations
dealing with the feud and the families involved. The tour does involve
WALKING, in some instances steep UPHILL or long sets of stairs.(see picture at the bottom of the page) So please dress comfortable and accordingly. Walking, running, or any type of comfortable shoes are recommended. Unfortunately the majority of the sites are not handicap accessible being as we are in the hills and mountains of Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This IS the most interactive and thorough tour of the Hatfield and McCoy Feud sites
in the area! We allow ample time to visit, ask questions and take
photographs at each site.
At our last estimate, the full tour could take
anywhere between 5 to 7 hours, depending on the time spent at each site.
So please PLAN accordingly as well.
Refreshments will be
INCLUDED (water, soda, small snacks).
By around midday, we will be located in historic Matewan, WV (home of the Matewan Massacre and the Mine Wars). Where a lunch break of approximately 45 minutes to an hour is given to dine at one of the few local restaurants:
Mi Pueblito: an authentic Mexican restaurant
Wingo's Grill:* a local BBQ place where you can eat some of the infamous STOLEN PIG and other local cuisine.
Feel free to bring your own snacks or
sack lunch as well to eat "on the run". Only the "refreshments", (water, soda, and small snacks) are included in the tour price. Any other expense incurred on the tour is payed for by the patron.
*(IF everyone is in agreement and does not want to stop for lunch and continue the tour in order to shorten it, that can be possible. Just ask or discuss with fellow tourists on the bus during the tour.)
**The tours will begin at Hatfield McCoy Exchange located at: 182 East 2nd Ave. Williamson, WV.
Hatfield McCoy Exchange is a souvenir/gift shop. It serves as the scheduling office for our tours.
